Point-to-point links multiply with every new system. A central layer (API gateway, events, sync contracts) keeps ERP, CRM, MES and SaaS on one observable backbone so each new connection does not rewrite the last.
ERP↔CRM, ERP↔MES, CRM↔marketing tools, SaaS↔admin panels and legacy↔modern apps. We start from the data contracts and latency needs, then choose REST, events or batch ETL.
We wrap them with adapters or an API/OPC-style bridge, normalize payloads and publish to the modern layer. The legacy core stays stable; new consumers talk to the contract, not the old screen.
OAuth2 or mTLS between services, scoped API keys, audit of writes and least-privilege identities. Sensitive flows stay on private networks or controlled gateways.
Webhooks fit simple, low-volume callbacks. An event bus fits high volume, multiple consumers and replay. Many estates use both: webhooks at the edge, events on the backbone.
